The French-Canadian mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne is making her German debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing Charlotte in Werther . She has enjoyed great success in roles by Mozart and Rossini and other roles in her broad and varied repertoire have recently included: Aloés (Chabrier's L’Étoile) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and Nationale Opera in Amsterdam, Annio (La clemenza di Tito) – which she sings again soon in Toulouse – at Zurich Opera, Marguerite (La Damnation de Faust) at the BBC Proms and Siebel (Faust), Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette), Diane (Iphigénie en Tauride) and Ascagne (Les Troyens) at the Metropolitan Opéra in New York. Other recent engagements have included the world premiere of Boesman's Pinocchio in Aix-en-Provence, which was also performed at the at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels and in Dijon, Angelina (La Cenerentola) at the Opéra de Montréal, Sesto (Giulio Cesare in Egitto) on tour in Europe with the Accademia Bizantina in Essen, San Sebastian, at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and Theater an der Wien, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in Quebec and Béatrice (Béatrice et Bénédict) in Toulouse. Julie Boulianne will soon be making her debut at the Opéra National in Paris. She also enjoys a busy concert career, recently appearing with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Métropolitain.
