Jakub Józef Orliński
The countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, singing the title role (role debut) in this new production of Handel's Rinaldo. This young Polish singer enjoyed great success at the 2016 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Grand Final and 2015 Marcella Sembrich International Vocal Competition. Recent engagements have included Orimeno in Cavalli's Erismena at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, a concert at the Händel Festival in Karlsruhe, the Messiah in the Carnegie Hall in New York and with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. Jakub Józef Orliński has also sung Cupid (Blow's Venus und Adonis) and Narciso (Agrippina) at Warsaw Chamber Opera, Ruggiero (Alcina) in Aachen and Cottbus, in Othello (an evening of ballet) at Leipzig Opera and Philippus (Telemann's Der misslungene Brautwechsel/The failed attempt to swap brides). While studying singing in Warsaw and New York he appeared in many of the Juilliard School and the Teatr Wielki / Oper Narodowa Opera Studio's studio productions. Jakub Józef Orliński is a passionate dancer and prize winning Breakdancer.
