Louise Alder is adding a new role to her repertoire: Gilda in the new production of Rigoletto. Roles with which she enjoyed great success at Oper Frankfurt since she joined the ensemble in 2014/15 have included Atalanta in this season's new production of Xerxes, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare in Egitto, the Vixen in Das schlaue Füchslein/The Cunning Little Vixen (new production), Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel (new production), Juliette Vermont in concert performances of Der Graf von Luxemburg, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Frasquita in Carmen and Musetta in La Bohème. Forthcoming engagements include Handel's Semele with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in der Royal Festival Hall in London and Musikverein in Vienna. This British soprano's other recent engagements have included Zerlina (Don Giovanni) for GlyndebourneTouring Opera, Sophie at Welsh National Opera in Cardiff, Eurydice (Rossi's Orpheus) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia) at the Glyndebourne Festival and Monteverdi's Poppea in Bucharest. Other places where Louise Alder has performed have included the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the BBC Proms, London Handel Festival, the Wigmore Hall in London and Oxford Lieder Festival. A recording of Richard Strauss Lieder will be released this summer by Orchid Classics. Louise Alder has been nominated for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and International Opera Awards.
