Angela Vallone begins her first season as a member of Oper Frankfurt's ensemble by singing 2nd Niece in Peter Grimes and Frida in Trojahn's Enrico - both new productions - and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas. This young American soprano recently graduated from the Juilliard School in New York, where she sang, amongst others, the title role in Cavalli's La Calisto, Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and 1st Greek Woman (Iphigénie en Aulide) in conjunction with the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. Concert work has included appearances with the Nürnberg and Durham symphony orchestras, the Juilliard's AXIOM New Music Ensemble in Oliver Knussen's Requiem: Songs for Sue and Servilia (La clemenza di Tito) in the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow. In 2017 she sang Susanna at the Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile. Angela Vallone has taken part in many programmes for young artists, received a scholarship from the Tanglewood Music Center and joined the Mozart Residency at the Festival d’ Aix-en-Provence. She recently won first prize at the International Gerda Lissner Singing Competition.
