Helmut Deutsch is one of the most sought after accompanists of our times, appearing regularly at leading venues around the world. Earlier on in his career he worked closely with Brigitte Fassbaender, Irmgard Seefried and Hermann Prey. Today he works regularly with singers including Mauro Peter, Jonas Kaufmann, Diana Damrau and Michael Volle. He has also worked as a chamber musician with top class instrumentalists for many years. An extensive and award winning discography documents his artistic achievements. Helmut Deutsch is a professor at the University for Music and Theatre in Munich and gives masterclasses throughout Europe and in Japan. His students have included Juliane Banse, Jonas Kaufmann, Dietrich Henschel, Christian Gerhaher and Wolfram Rieger. Helmut Deutsch was born in Vienna, where he studied piano, composition and musicology.
