The French cellist Alexis Descharmes is one of the greatest talents of his generation. He was a member of the Orchester der Opéra National in Paris before going to the Orchester der Opéra National in Bordeaux in 2016 to lead the cello section. He trained at the Conservatoire in Paris and devotes much of his time to contemporary music, working regularly with the Institute de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique / Musique des Centre Pompidou and the Ensemble intercontemporain. Alexis Descharmes has been a member of the renowned Court-circuit ensemble since 1998, whose international renown is based on experimental music and interdisciplinary projects. There are more than 50 items in his discography (solo works and chamber music) – including many recordings of works by Kaija Saariaho, Klaus Huber, Roger Reynolds, Philippe Hurel, Ricardo Nillni, Franz Liszt and Franz Schubert.
