Frank Schulte studied teaching music at the University of Arts in Berlin, then opera coaching and Lieder at Leipzig University, graduating with distinction. His piano teachers were Thomas Menrath and Markus Tomas. He has been working at the Komisch Oper in Berlin as a soloists' coach since 2008 and is much sought after as a Lieder accompanist and orchestral pianist and has taken part in many performances and tours throughout Europe. He and other musicians from the orchestra are constantly developing new chamber music projects. He was an accompanist at Germany's 2012, 2014 and 2016 National Singing Competitions. Argentinian tango has been his great passion since 1996. He won the 4th Premio Internazionale »Astor Piazzolla« in Castelfidardo/Italy in 1997. He appears regularly in concert with the tango ensemble Quinteto Ángel, which he and the bandoneonist Christian Gerber started up in 2001 - several CDs are available. Projects on which he has accompanied Dagmar Manzel have included Barrie Kosky's very successful 2011 production of Die sieben Todsünden – Seven Deadly Sins at the Komische Oper Berlin and Brechtfestival in Augsburg in 2013.
