Josh Jürgen Martin has worked closely with Arnulf Herrmann for many years, and was involved in the world premiere of Herrmann's Wasser/Water in Frankfurt in 2012. He teaches at the »Hanns Eisler« University of Music in Berlin and worked as a mixer at the Centre for Arts and Media Technology (ZKM) in Karlsruhe from 2006-2009 before he started running the electronics studio at the Academy of Arts in Berlin in 2014. After studying at the University of Music in Basel, from where he graduated in 2001 in Audio Design, he began working on dance projects, including being in charge of sound design on two productions directed by the Belgian choreographer Wim Vandekeybus (2001 and 2005). These were followed by many other productions for well known composers, ensembles and orchestras. Josh Jürgen Martin began his artistic career as a rock musician.
