Susanne Uhl, who was born in Nordhausen, studied stage and costume design at the University for Fine Arts in Dresden. She has worked regularly with the director Tilmann Köhler and stage designer Karoly Risz since 2005. Productions have included Der Kaufmann von Venedig/The Merchant of Venice (Staatsschauspiel Dresden, 2009), King Arthur (Semperoper Dresden, 2013), Mario und der Zauberer/Mario and the Magician (Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart, 2014), Macbeth (Deutsches Theater, 2015) and Die Jungfrau von Orleans/The Maid of Orleans (Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, 2015). She has also worked with the director Christina Friedrich on plays in theatres including those in Göttingen, Luzern and Zürich. Her most recent project was Büchner's Dantons Tod/Danton's Death directed by Peter Kleinert at the Schaubühne in Berlin. Now she is back at Oper Frankfurt where she designed costumes for new productions of Handel's Teseo (2013) and Radamisto (2016).
