Opera and Schools
Theatres and orchestras in Germany are protected by UNESCO - as a World Culture Heritage. We offer many opportunities, see below and Opera for You, for young people to get to know our theatre, and opera in general.
There is information on the German side of this website if your German is good enough for you to gain more experience in teaching music/theatre.

We invite you to find out what is being performed during Oper Frankfurt's new season and answer any questions you might have.
Wednesday, 28th February 2018, 6 pm
After a series of performances of an opera, which has been specially adapted for children in the Holzfoyer, have finished the production goes on tour to schools in the Frankfurt and Rhein-Main area; we bring scenery, lighting, sound equipment and props. Our singers and puppet perform for an hour. All we need from you is access to electricity, a tuned piano and, or course, an audience!

A chance for children to learn about the action and music in an opera from the perspective of a performer. This can sometimes be combined with a look at the main stage in the opera house.
These workshops cost €100 and only bookable if the class in question is going to attend a performance at the opera house later on. Tickets for school children and people accompanying them cost €6 and can be booked by telephone:

School children can sometimes come and listen to the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester rehearsing for a concert. A workshop and talk with musicians take place before the rehearsal begins.

Children from social institutions, parishes, guest students from other countries, groups of students, all sorts of groups and welcome! Get in touch and we can talk about coming to see what goes on in an opera house to make the magic of an evening in the opera possible.
We are beginning a three year TUSCH partnership with the Willemerschule in Frankfurt, Sachsenhausen.
