PALESTRINA on CD

Hans Pfitzner's monumental opera Palestrina has been released on CD. Another Oper Frankfurt/Oehms Classics recording. It was recorded during a revival in 2010, conducted by Kirill Petrenko, who also conducted the first run of performances. The title role is sung by Peter Bronder. The box set, which contains 3 CDs, a booklet with libretto and many photographs from the production, can be purchased from the foyer at Oper Frankfurt when the theatre is open to the public and from the pre-booking box office in Willy Brandt Platz.

Barbara Zechmeister received an early, but wonderful Christmas surprise at the end of the opening night of the current revival of Johann Strauß“ Die Fledermaus on December 17th 2011. Bernd Loebe, Intendant of Oper Frankfurt, awarded her the honorary title of "Kammersängerin" for her work at Oper Frankfurt, where she has been a member of the ensemble since 1996.
