Anna Ryberg
The Swedish soprano Anna Ryberg has been a great favourite with audiences in Frankfurt since she joined the ensemble in 2004. Her roles during the 2013/14 season are 1st Maid in Daphne and Piccolo / Wunderkind/Child Genius / Scholar in Die Ausflüge des Herrn Brouček/The Adventures of Mr Brouček. She has sung many Mozart roles in Frankfurt during recent seasons: Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna and Barbarina (Die Hochzeit des Figaro/Le nozze di Figaro), Servilia (La clemenza di Tito), Arminda (Die Gärtnerin aus Liebe/La Finta Giardinera) and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte). Other roles with which she has enjoyed great success here have included Poppea (Agrippina), Princess Laoula (Chabrier's L’Étoile), Musetta (La Bohème), Oscar (Ein Maskenball/Un ballo in maschera), Jano (Jenufa), Sophie (Werther), Marzelline (Fidelio), Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Drusilla / Virtù (Die Krönung der Poppea/The Coronation of Poppea), Dorella in Wagner's early opera Das Liebesverbot/The Ban on Love (in concert in the Allte Oper – available on CD - OehmsClassics) and Clizia (new production of Handel's Teseo last season). Guest enegagements have included Pamina in Aix-en-Provence, Countess Almaviva at the Opéra de Rouen and in Manchester, London, Limoges, Jersey, Leeds and Amsterdam and the title role in Handel's Semele in Sydney. This artist, who has received many awards and prizes, studied in Sydney and at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
