Britta Stallmeister

Britta Stallmeister joined the Ensemble at Oper Frankfurt in 1997 after being awarded distinction in Germany’s national singing competition. Her broad repertoire includes the roles of Adele (new Frankfurt production of Die Fledermaus 2010/11), Servilia (La clemenza di Tito), Zdenka (Arabella), Marfa (Die Zarenbraut/The Tsar’s Bride), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Musetta (La Bohème), Dalinda (Ariodante), Pamina, Gretel, Sophie in Udo Zimmermann’s Weiße Rose/White Rose, Sophie in Massenet’s Werther, Lauretta (Il trittico), Ighino (Pfitzner’s Palestrina), Cordelia (Reimann’s Lear) and Woglinde (Das Rheingold). These last two operas are available on CD - Oehms Classic, in cooperation with Oper Frankfurt). After singing the 1st Koryphäe (role debut) in a new production of Pizzetti’s Murder in the Cathedral towards the end of last season she starts the 2011/12 off with another new role: Meroe in Schoeck’s Penthesilea. This will be followed by Woglinde in a new production of Götterdämmerung and roles in revivals of Die Fledermaus, Lear and Das Rheingold. Guest engagements have included appearances at the Sächsische Staatsoper in Dresden, in Hannover, Rouen and Basel, at the Salzburg Festival, in Bayreuth and at the Theater an der Wien (as Princess Natalie in Christof Loy’s new production of Henze’s Der Prinz von Homburg/The Prince of Homburg).
