Your opera ticket is your train ticket
A purchased ticket entitles the holder to use all local transport on the day of the performance and is valid from five hours before the performance begins and afterwards, until the public transport system closes down. If you wish to travel first class you will have to up-grade.
Subscription ticket holders' passes also entitle them to use free public transport to travel to and from performances. This does unfortunately NOT apply if you have purchased your ticket through Print@Home-Tickets. We hope this will be possible in the future, when the RMV have come up with a way to make this fraud free.
"Child Minding" at Oper Frankfurt
During performances which take place on afternoons we offer free child minding (click on this link to find dates when this service is available). Please contact Janine Köster, telephone number 069 212 37 348, to make arrangements.
The offer applies only to children between the ages of three and eight: the children are looked after by two teachers and will also be given something to eat - at no cost. When you hand your children over to the carers you must let them know exactly where you are sitting so that you can be found quickly if the need arises.
Programmes on sale at the pre-booking box office
You can buy your programme for the opera when purchasing your ticket at the Städtischen Bühnen's pre-booking box office (programmes for premieres are not available until one day before the first performance). The programmes normally cost €4.50, exceptions to the rule are the less expensive programmes for our productions in the Depot. Our free, and informative, opera magazine is also available at the pre-booking box office.
Introductory talks before the performance
Oper Frankfurt's dramaturges offer free introductory talks (in GERMAN about the synopsis, context and production) half an hour before every performance begins. These take place in the opera house's Holzfoyer (on the first floor) or in the foyer of the Bockenheimer Depot.
