During Oper Frankfurt’s 2012/13 season Dietrich Volle will take part in new productions of Barber’s Vanessa, Humperdinck’s Königskinder, Prokoviev’s Der Spieler/The Gambler and Verdi’s Die sizilianische Vesper and roles in revivals include Donner (role debut new production Rheingold 2009/10). Since joining the ensemble in 2007/08 roles have included Roy Cohn in Eötvös’ Angels in America, Spencer Coyle in Britten’s Owen Wingrave (both operas, which had never been performed in Frankfurt before, where performed in the Bockenheimer Depot) and, in the main house, Bartolo (Die Hochzeit des Figaro/Le nozze di Figaro), Melot (Tristan und Isolde), Banquo (Bloch’s Macbeth), Capulet (Roméo et Juliette), Don Prudenzio (Die Reise nach Reims/Il viaggio a Reims), the Bishop of Cadix (Pfitzner’s Palestrina), Leroux/Sacerdote (Dallapiccola’s Volo di notte/Il prigioniero), Dr. Kolenatý (Janáček’s Die Sache Makropulos/The Makropoulos Case), the Duke of Albany (Reimann’s Lear) and Merea / Lepidus in the world premiere of Glanert’s Caligula. Earlier in his career Dietrich Volle was a member of the companies in Aachen, Karlsruhe and Wiesbaden. In 2010/11 he took part in the world premiere of Michael Obst’s Die andere Seite/The Other Side in Würzburg, where he returns in 2013 for performances of Wozzeck.
