BARBARA ZECHMEISTER

is now a "Kammersängerin"

Barbara Zechmeister received an early, but wonderful Christmas surprise at the end of the opening night of the current revival of Johann Strauß“ Die Fledermaus on December 17th 2011. Bernd Loebe, Intendant of Oper Frankfurt, awarded her the honorary title of "Kammersängerin" for her work at Oper Frankfurt, where she has been a member of the ensemble since 1996.

»Die Deutsche Bühne« theatre magazine voted Oper Frankfurt best opera house of the year in July and »Opernwelt« magazine have just issued the results of their annual survey among 50 critics: Oper Frankfurt was voted best opera house in Germany, the opera’s orchestra, the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester was voted »Orchestra of the Year«, for the THIRD time running, and Johannes Martin Kränzle, a member of the Ensemble, is »Male Singer of the Year«.
