The aim of Oper Frankfurt’s Opera Studio is to actively support and encourage up and coming young artists. Young singers from all over the world are given the chance of appearing on a great operatic stage for the first time (often the most difficult step in a singer’s career) and to build on and nurture their talent with professional support.
Sophie Angebault, Yuriy Tsiple and Dong-Jun Wang have now left the Studio after two years successful study. They are more than likely to be seen and heard here again in future seasons as guests.
Three new singers join the Studio his season. Apart from studying roles they will learn more about acting, receive German lessons (for non-German speakers), study phonetics, dialogue, the art of improvisation, dance and movement as well as attending rehearsals during the season and discussing afterwards when they have seen and heard. Regular masterclasses give the young members of the Studio the chance of productive exchanges with experienced stage personalities. They will also be given stage experience, in smaller roles or, possibly, as members of a second cast, in larger roles. The Studio also has its own series of concerts in the foyer - »Opera Studio Soirees«. We invite you to follow the artistic development of these young singers.
