Julian Prégardien, born in Frankfurt in 1984, has been a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt since the 2009/10 season. This summer he sang Belfiore in La finta giardiniera at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. His roles in Frankfurt during the 2012/13 season include Arbace and Corpo in new productions of Idomeneo and Das Spiel von Seele und Körper/The Game between Body and Soul. Julian Prégardien gave a rectial with his father Christoph Prégardien at Oper Frankfurt in 2011/12. Important role debuts here in recent seasons have included Jason in Charpentier’s Médée and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. He has also sung at the Theater an der Wien and the Prinzregententheater in Munich. He toured with the Festival d’Aix en Provence and Haydn’s L'infedeltà delusa, which was performed in many cities, including Monte Carlo, the Opéra de Lille and the Teatro Calderón de Bilbao. Concert engagements take him on a regular basis to important concert halls and festivals and he has enjoyed great success in chamber music with several groups of musicians.
