DISRUPTION TO ROADS & PUBLIC TRANSPORT

May 16th - 19th 2012

Frankfurt has prepared itself for demonstrations that are likely to be taking place in the centre of the city, near bank headquarters. No S or U-Bahn trains will be stopping at "Taunusanlage" or "Willy-Brandt-Platz" on May 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th. Trams 11 & 12: carrying passengers from Höchst and Schwanheim will terminate at the Hauptbahnhof, those coming from Fechenheim will terminate at "Börneplatz / Stoltzestraße".
Performance at Oper Frankfurt (and Schauspiel) on May 16th: the police have informed us that Willy-Brandt-Platz will be kept open to enable ticket holders to reach the theatres. You will save time if you do not bring a rucksack with you. You will need to allow more time than usual to get here. The journey by foot from the Hauptbahnhof, Römer, Hauptwache or Schweizer Platz stations takes about 10 minutes. Getting to underground car park next to theatre: the police will allow people coming to the performance through from Neue Mainzer Straße and Märchenbrunnen. Entry to the garage is currently possible from Untermainkai (road running along river). We recommend that you tune in to the news regularly in case the situation changes.

So many people wanted to see the new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Otello that an additional performance has been scheduled on Monday June 25th 2012. Cast includes Elza van den Heever (Desdemona), Carlo Ventre (Otello), Zeljko Lucic (Jago) and Claudia Mahnke (Emilia).

Christof Loy’s wonderful production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte is back again, just as wonderful, with all six roles being performed by members of the ensemble. LAST PERFORMANCE THIS SEASON MAY 19th 2012.
