During the 2012/13 season he will be adding new roles to his repertoire in two new productions: Curio in Giulio Cesare in Egitto and Tempo/Consiglio in Cavalieri’s Das Spiel von Seele und Körper/The Game between Body and Soul. This baritone, who comes from Ulm and studied with Rudolf Piernay and Claudia Eder, has won many awards and prizes, including distinction at the 2002 and 2003 International Singing Competition at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. He joined the Stadttheater in Gießen in 2003/04 before becoming a member of the ensemble at Theater Heidelberg in 2006/07, where his many roles included the title role in Eugen Onegin and Don Giovanni and Count Almaviva. He was nominated for Singer of the Year for his interpretation of Don Giovanni by Opernwelt magazine in 2006. Guest engagements have included appearances at the Stuttgart State Opera, the Staatstheaters in Wiesbaden and Nationaltheater in Mannheim. Sebastian Geyer enjoyed great success with the title roles in two Vivaldi operas, Montezuma and Tito Manlio, in the Rococo Theatre at Schwetzingen Castle. Recent concert work has included appearances with the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the baroque ensemble La Stagione Frankfurt, the Münchner Sinfoniker and the WDR Radio Orchestra in Cologne.
