During the 2014/15 season operas conducted by Karsten Januschke at Oper Frankfurt include La Bohème, Hänsel und Gretel, Don Giovanni and the first revival of Pizzetti's Murder in the Cathedral. Last season he conducted a new production of Reimann's Die Gespenstersonate/Ghost Sonata in the Bockenheimer Depot and performances of Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte and Prokofiev's Romeo und Julia (children's Christmas concert). In 2014 he made his debut with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern and Bochum Symphoniker. He began working as a coach at Oper Frankfurt in 2008/09 and became one of our Kapellmeisters in 2013/14. He made his debut with the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester in 2009/10 with Telemann's Pimpinone and a concert performance of Lior Navok's Die kleine Meerjungfrau/The Little Mermaid. Other orchestras conducted by Karsten Januschke in recent seasons have included the Slovakian Philharmonie. He has also enjoyed a close relationship with Frankfurt Chamber Brass for some time. While under contract to the Vienna State Opera between 2004 and 2008 Karsten Januschke conducted operas for children and worked regularly as a coach to singers including Rolando Villazón, Marlis Petersen and Hanno Müller-Brachmann. Conductors he has assisted at festivals and opera companies in the past have included Kirill Petrenko, Bertrand de Billy and Seiji Ozawa. He has also been a regular assistant at the Bayreuth Festival, most recently in 2012, with Christian Thielemann.
