Felice Venanzoni
Felice Venanzoni, who now co-runs the coaching department, began working at Oper Frankfurt in 1999. Earlier this season he conducted King Arthur at the Semper Opera in Dresden, where he returns soon for L’impresario delle Canarie and where he has conducted Dilettanten-Diva and Dorina e Nibbio in the past. During the 2012/13 season he conducted a new production of Handel's Teseo, the first performances of this work in Frankfurt. Other works conducted by Felice Fenanzoni in recent seasons have included a Monteverdi cycle (L’Orfeo, Combattimenti and Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) and La Giuditta, all new productions in the Bockenheimer Depot, and Die Krönung der Poppea/The Coronation of Poppea, Agrippina and Ariodante in the main house. He has worked regularly with the conductor Jean-Christophe Spinosi since 2009 on productions in Vienna, Nancy, Paris and Versailles. They have future projects planned, with Cecilia Bartoli, in Vienna and Salzburg. Felice Venanzoni worked at the Salzburg Fesival in 2008, 2010 and 2011 as continuo player and conductor's assistant for Don Giovanni. Other places where he has worked have included Toronto, Antwerp and Japan, where he shared his experiences as a specialist in Italian opera at the Kansai Oper in Osaka. Singers with whom he has appeared in recital include José Carreras and Renato Bruson. Theatres where he has worked have included those in Como, Brescia, Bergamo, Pavia, Novara and Salerno as well as the Associazione Lirica Concertistica in Milan and Macerata Opera Festival.
