Daniel Behle

Daniel Behle
Daniel Behle, a former member of our Ensemble, is back to repeat his wonderful portrayal of Leukippos at Oper Frankfurt, where roles in recent seasons have included Mozart's Tamino, Titus, Belmonte, Ferrando and, most recently, Idomeneo and the King's Son in Humperdinck's Königskinder/Royal Children (available on CD, OehmsClassics, and nominated for best recording at the 2014 International Opera Awards in London). He appears here in recital on March 4th, singing Die schöne Müllerin. Recent engagements have included Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at Zurich Opera, and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. Other engagements in 2014 include Matteo in Arabella at the Salzburg Easter Festival and his third recital at the Wigmore Hall in London. Other opera houses where Daniel Behle has sung have included theTeatro alla Scala in Milan, the Opéra National Paris, Grand Théâtre in Geneva, the Munich, Berlin and Vienna state operas and the Royal Opera in Stockholm. His first solo CD, of works by Schubert, Beethoven, Grieg, Britten and Trojahn, was included in the top 15 recordings chosen by the Metropolitan Opera Guild in 2009. Daniel Behle's seventh solo recording, Die schöne Magelone will be released by Capriccio soon followed, in June, by a recording of Gluck arias on the DECCA label. Plans are afoot for him to return regularly to Oper Frankfurt in future seasons.
