Daniel Behle, who is singing the role of Erik for the first time – his first Wagner role – and was a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt until 2009/10, is back in December to sing the title role in Der Graf von Luxemburg/The Count of Luxembourg. His repertoire includes Mozart's Idomeneo, Tamino, Titus, Belmonte and Ferrando, which he has sung at theatres including the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Zurich Opera, the Aix-en-Provence Festival and Staatsoper Berlin, and he is increasingly in demand for Strauss roles. He has sung Leukippos in Daphne in Frankfurt, Matteo in Arabella in Dresden and at the Salzburg Festival and Henry Morosus in Die schweigsame Frau in Munich. Future engagements include Flamand (Capriccio) at the Theater an der Wien, Max (Der Freischütz) at the Hamburg State Opera and Loge (role debut) in concert performances of Das Rheingold under Thomas Hengelbrock. In 2017 he will make his debut at the Bayreuth Festival, singing David, for the first time, in a new production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. He recently sang Oronte (Alcina) in Amsterdam and Brussels and Schönberg's Berufener (Die Jakobsleiter) at the Musikfest in Berlin. Places where he has given recitals have included Oper Frankfurt, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Richard Strauss Festival. He is currently touring his own, trio, version of Winterreise. He has made many recordings for DECCA, Deutsche Grammophon, Capriccio and Sony Classical.
