Nadine Weissmann
Nadine Weissmann is making her house debut at Oper Frankfurt. Interesting future plans include Brahms’ Alto Rapsody with the Orchestre National de Bordeaux and Erda (Das Rheingold) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. She comes from Berlin and has won prizes at many competitions, including the International Wagner Competition in Seattle and the Francisco Viñas Competition (including a Wagner prize and a special award from São Paolo). She enjoyed critical acclaim and has thrilled the public since the release of a DVD of the Ring in Weimar and performances in Arthaus (as Erda, Schwertleite, Waltraute and 2nd Norn). Recordings include a contract with Deutsche Grammophon: as a guest alongside Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon (conducted by Nicola Luisotti). She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington (where she was taught by Virginia Zeani).
