Alan Barnes
Alan Barnes was a solo dancer at Frankfurt Ballet, under William Forsythe’s leadership, from 1988 before joining Oper Frankfurt in 2004 as choreograher, dancer and director’s assistant, where he appeared in the new production of Die tote Stadt. Born in New York he has received many awards for his achievements in dance. He enjoys a close collaboration with other contemporary choreographers including David Dawson, Pascal Touzeau and Francesca Harper. Alan Barnes’ other projects have included working as a teacher and choreographer at the world famous Alvin Ailey Dance Center in New York and engagements at many other companies, theatres and opera houses all over the world, including the Semperoper Ballet in Dresden, Het Nationale Ballet Muziektheater in Amsterdam, the Royal Ballet van Vlaanderen Antwerpen and the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin.
