Teodor Ilincai
Tenor
Teodor Ilincăi is a much sought after lyric tenor. This Romanian artist began his career as a soloist at the Bucharest National Opera and celebrated his international debut in 2009 at the Hamburg State Opera as Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth. He has enjoyed great success at several competitions, including the 2010 Francisco Viñas competition in Barcelona 2010, and made his debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2011 as Cassio in a new production of Otello. Teodor Ilincăi’s portrayal of Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London is available on DVD/Opus Arte. He has sung this role for other opera companies before, including the Hamburg State Opera in 2011, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf/Duisburg in 2012, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Avenches Opera Festival in Switzerland and the Bucharest National Opera. He enjoyed great success when he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera with Ismaele (Nabucco) and other recent engagements have included Lenski (Eugen Onegin) in Monte-Carlo, Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) in Lucerne and Marseille, Alfredo (La Traviata) in Hamburg and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse and Gounod’s Faust at the Macerata Festival, a role he will be singing in Hamburg in 2013.
