Carlo Montanaro
The Italian conductor Carlo Montanaro is General Music Direktor of the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw, where he recently led performances of Rigoletto and La Traviata. He is a regular guest at renowned opera houses around the world, including the Dresden and Munich states operas, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv and New National Theatre in Tokyo. Carlo Montanaro started the 2014/15 season off by making his debut at the Opéra Bastille in Paris, with Il barbiere di Siviglia, which was followed by Verdi's Requiem with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, a series of concerts with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and a new production of La fanciulla del West at the Hamburg State Opera. In recent seasons he has conducted Adriana Lecouvreur, L’Amico Fritz (in concert) and Don Carlo at Oper Frankfurt. Future plans include La Traviata in Dallas, Boito's Mefistofele in Budapest, La Bohème in Sydney and Nabucco in Seattle.
