Vincent Boussard

Vincent Boussard, from France, directed Adriana Lecouvreur at Oper Frankfurt in 2011/12 with the same team responsible for this new production of Ezio: Kaspar Glarner (stage designer) and Christian Lacroix (costume designer). Vincent Boussard has concentrated mainly on opera since he made his debut at the Comédie Française's Studio Theatre in 1999. Since then he has directed productions at many leading theatres, including the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, theThéâtre National du Capitole in Toulouse, the Theater an der Wien, Graz Opera, the Hamburg, Berlin and Munich state operas, the Royal Opera in Stockholm and San Francisco Opera as well as at the Festwochen für Alte Musik in Innsbruck, the Handel Festival in Halle, the Baden-Baden Festival and Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. He has directed several baroque operas, collaborating with conductors including René Jacobs, William Christie and Alessandro de Marchi. His most recent production was The Pearl Fishers at the Opéra National du Rhin in Strassbourg, where the costume designer was Christian Lacroix. Future engagements include La Favorite at the Théâtre National du Capitole Toulouse and The Rise and Fall of Mahagonny at the Berlin State Opera.
