Grazia Doronzio
Soprano
Grazia Doronzio made a triumphant debut in Frankfurt in 2012 singing Suzel in concert performances of L’amico Fritz alongside Joseph Calleja. She will be making her debut at the Hamburg State Opera soon with Pamina. This Italian soprano is a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she recently sang Liù in Turandot, a role she sang at Portland Opera in a new production directed by Christopher Alden and will sing it again, this year, at Seattle Opera. Mimì is a role she has already sung for Atlanta Opera, the Michigan Opera Theatre, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Deutsche Oper Berlin and, in the spring of 2012, at Angers Nantes Opéra. Other recent engagements have included Anna (Le Villi) at the Klangvokal Music Festival in Dortmund, Mozart’s Requiem with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under James Levine, Isifile in Giasone at the Chicago Opera Theatre, Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Rieti Belcanto Festival under Kent Nagano, Micaëla in Carmen at the Savonlinna Festival and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro for Michigan Opera Theatre. Grazia Doronzio has won prizes at many competitions, including the 2008 Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition.
