The Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester (Oper Frankfurt's orchestra) give ten concerts in the Alte Oper every season.

In our chamber music series musicians from the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester give concerts in the Holzfoyer. The programmes are linked to new opera productions and include interesting mixtures of well known, less well known and, sometimes, unknown music.

Opera Studio Soiree concerts began in 2008/09 and are performed by members of Oper Frankfurt's Opera Studio.

The 6th International Sir Georg Solti Conducting Competition took place in the 2012/13 season. This city’s two great orchestras, the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester and the hr-Sinfonieorchester, take it in turns to play for the early and final rounds of the competition. The final concert, which is open to the public and which this year was played by the hr-Sinfonieorchester, took place on September 23rd 2012 at 11am in the main auditorium at the Alte Oper.
