Public Transport
U-Bahn (underground) lines U1, U2, U3, U4 & U5, trams nos. 11, 12 and the N8 bus will all take you to Willy-Brandt Platz.

If you have a ticket for the opera (this does not apply if your ticket has cost you nothing) this entitles you to free travel on public transport from 5 hours before the performance begins until the service closes down at night. (you must pay to upgrade if you want to travel first class).

Parking
There are two underground garages near the theatre: the "Am Theater" garage (with an exit which takes you within a few paces of the opera house). (map of garage: Einfahrt=Entrance, Ausfahrt=Exit) You can enter the garage on workdays from 7am to midnight, on Sundays and holidays from 10am until midnight. You can leave the garage at any time. Parking costs €1.50 an hour, €1 on Sundays and holidays. There is a special €5 evening tarif (you can park after 5pm but have to leave the car park before 8am the following morning). Special parking places for women and the handicapped can be found on the first parking level. The second garage (about two minutes walk from the opera), in case the one next to the theatre is full, is the Parkhaus Untermainanlage on the corner of Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße and Untermainanlage, entrance/Einfahrt is in Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße (which you can see on the map although the garage itself is not marked). This is a one-way street heading into town and the opera house. If you were driving along the road parallel to the river (Untermainkai) you should turn off into Mainluststraße and then turn first right into Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße. This garage is open everyday (you can only drive IN to park until midnight. You can drive OUT at any time. Parking charges are the same as for the garage next to the opera house, including the special evening rate, which begins at 5pm, of €5 (but you have to get your car out again early in the morning).


Bockenheimer Depot

Direction to Bockenheimer Depot
Take A66 until the end
Exit 21 direction Messe/Miquelallee
Follow Miquelallee for 800m than take Zeppelinallee
after 800m turn right in Bockenheimer Landstraße
after 200m turn right in Gräfstraße
after 20m you will find a car park on the right, next to the Bockenheimer Depot

Public Transport
U-Bahn (underground) lines U4, U6 & U7, tram no.16 and the 33, 50 and N2 busses will all take you to Bockenheimer Warte station.

If you have a ticket for the opera (does not apply if you have a complimentary ticket) it entitles you to free travel on public transport from 5 hours before the performance begins until the service closes down at night. (you must pay an upgrade if you want to travel first class).

Taxi Stand
At the Bockenheimer Warte, which is an old and striking tower across the road from the Bockenheimer Depot (an old tram depot, which you can't miss).

Parking
There is a car park on the left hand side of the Depot which costs €1 per hour.
