Matthew Polenzani has been forced to cancel his recital tour in early 2013, which included dates in Amsterdam, London and, unfortunately, his recital here on March 19th. We are delighted that two members of the Ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, mezzo-soprano Paula Murrihy and tenor Simon Bode will replace him, proving that they are just as wonderful in recital as they are in opera! Paula Murrihy’s recent guest engagements have included appearances at the Aldeburgh Festival and Carnegie Hall in New York. Simon Bode’s first CD, of Brahms Lieder accompanied by Graham Johnson, has been released by Hyperion Records. He and pianist Nicholas Rimmer won 2nd prize at the 2009 International Schubert Competition in Dortmund. On March 19th they will be accompanied by Jan Philipp Schulze, singing Lieder by Schubert, Britten and Brahms. Find the detailes programme here.
