Franco Fagioli has set new standards with his interpretations of leading Handel roles such as Giulio Cesare, Ariodante, Teseo, Bertarido (Rodelinda) and, most recently, Arsace in Rossini’s Aureliano in Palmira. His international career began after he won a prize at the Bertelsmann singing competition »Neue Stimme/New Voices«. He enjoyed great success with the title role of Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Zurich, Oslo and Karlsruhe. His first recital in Europe took place in 2009 at the Stuttgart State Opera and was enthusiastically received. He has also appeared in recital with Cecilia Bartoli in London and Brussels. He will present works by Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Vivaldi and Handel at his Oper Frankfurt recital. Find the detailed programme here.
