U-Bahn (underground) lines U1, U2, U3, U4 & U5, trams 11, 12 and the N8 all stop at Willy-Brandt Platz.
A ticket for the opera (this does not apply if your ticket has cost you nothing) allows you to travel free on public transport from 5 hours before the performance begins until the service closes down at night. (you must upgrade if you want to travel first class). Free travel is not possible on tickets printed out at home (Ticketdidrect)
Taxi Stand Neue Mainzer Strasse
is next to the »Fundus« restaurant, which is situated on the corner of schauspielfrankfurt, which is bang next to Oper Frankfurt. There is another stand opposite the theatre (cross the tram lines and go through the garden and you will see them). Occupy people are friendly.
The »Am Theater« garage (SEE MAP BELOW: Einfahrt=Entrance, Ausfahrt=Exit) takes you to within a few paces of the opera house. Entrance to garage possible on workdays from 7am to midnight, Sundays and bank holidays from 10am until midnight. You can leave the garage at any time. Parking costs €1.50 per hour, €1 on Sundays and bank holidays. There is a special €5 evening tariff (available from 5pm. You can park after 5pm but have to leave the car park before 8am the following morning). Special parking places for women and the handicapped can be found on Level 1.
The »Parkhaus Untermainanlage« garage (2-3 minutes walk from the theatre) is on the corner of Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße and Untermainanlage, entrance/Einfahrt is in Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße (which you can see on the map although the garage itself is not marked). This is a one-way street heading into town and the opera house. If you were driving along the road parallel to the river (Untermainkai) you should turn off into Mainluststraße and then turn first right into Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße. This garage is open everyday (you can only drive IN to park until midnight. You can drive OUT at any time. Parking charges are the same as for the garage next to the opera house, including the special €5 evening tariff which begins at 5pm - but you have to get your car out by 7am the next morning). The pedestrian entrance/exit is opposite a Restaurant called Nizza. Turn your back on the road and walk through the garden to the theatre (c. 2 mins).
There is another garage (c. 8 minutes by foot from the theatre): »Parkhaus Kaiserplatz«, which is opposite the reception entrance of the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof. Entrance to the garage is on Bethmannstraße (which is a one way right turning off Kaiserstrasse). It is open 24 hours a day and costs €2 an hour.
