Beau Gibson
Beau Gibson made his European debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2010/11 singing the 1st Tempter and 1st Cavalier in a new production of Pizzetti’s Murder in the Cathedral. He joins the ensemble in the 2012/13 season, during which his diverse roles include Cassio in Otello and Froh in Das Rheingold. This American tenor is an alumnus of San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program and the Opera Studio at Houston Grand Opera. During this time he worked on and sang many roles, including Tamino, Belmonte, Rodolfo, Bénédict (Berlioz’ Béatrice et Bénédict), Beppe (Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci), Captain Vere (Britten’s Billy Budd) and Gounod’s Faust. He was also a soloist in the world premiere and recording of Christopher Theofanidis’ The Refuge. His Lieder repertoire includes works by Schumann, Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms, Rimsky Korsakov, Britten, Poulenc and Strauss. Guest engagements have included Froh at Los Angeles Opera conducted by James Conlon, Cassio at San Francisco Opera under Nicola Luisotti and Tamino in Rome. He made his debut at Opera North (New Hampshire) in the summer of 2011 singing Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni.
