Dimitri Pittas, whose recent prizes include 1st Prize at the Licia Albanese/Puccini Foundation Competition, is regarded as one of the most interesting tenors in the operatic world. He sang Rodolfo at the Metropolitan Opera New York in 2011/12 and will be singing it again later this season at Houston Grand Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. This New York born artist is a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. He generated great excitement when he sang Macduff at the Metropolitan Opera conducted by James Levine in 2007/08. This is a role he sang when he made his debuts at the Bayerische State Opera in Munich conducted by Nicola Luisotti and the Vienna State Opera under Daniele Gatti. He made his debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2009/10 with Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor. Other engagements have included Alfredo in La Traviata at the Seattle Opera, Rodolfo in Leipzig and at the Semperoper in Dresden, Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore with Welsh National Opera on tour in Great Britain, the Duke in Rigoletto and Gounod’s Faust in Bordeaux, Tebaldo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at die Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Macduff at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
