Charlotta Larsson

Charlotta Larsson is one of the most successful Swedish lirico spinto singers in the world. She recently sang the Countess in Richard Strauss’ Capriccio at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. This versatile soprano sung at all the leading companies in Scandinavia since she made her very successful debut at the Stockholm Volksoper in 1993. Her repertoire includes Pamina, Donna Anna, Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Ilia (Idomeneo), Mimì, Violetta (La Traviata), Desdemona (Otello), Marguerite (Faust), Cio Cio San (Madama Butterfly) and Aida. She quickly made a name for herself as a concert artist, with works including Berg’s Sieben frühe Lieder/Seven Early Songs. She took part in a concert at the royal castle in Stockholm with Doris Soffel and Gösta Winbergh. She is also active in contemporary music and took part in the world premiere of Jacqueline Fontyn’s Blake’s Mirror song cycle. She was nominated for the 2009 Swedish Opera Prize for her portrayal of the title role in Samuel Barber’s Vanessa at Malmö Opera, where she also took part in a production of Eugen Onegin in 2001. This is her debut at Oper Frankfurt.
