Björn Bürger made his debut at Oper Frankfurt this September as Nicholas in Vanessa, which was followed by Curio in the new production of Giulio Cesare in Egitto. This young baritone, who just won first prize at Germany’s Singing Comptition, will join the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt next season. He is currently studying at the High School for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt with Prof. Hedwig Fassbender. Recent engagements have included King Argante (Rinaldo) at the Handel Festival in Karlsruhe and one of the the main roles, Victor Hugo, in the world premiere of Wagner’s Eine Kapitulation/A Capitulation at the Festival for Young Artists in Bayreuth. In June 2012 he made his debut in Geneva, in a new produdtion of Verdi’s Macbeth directed by Christof Loy.
