Daniel Behle

Tenor

Daniel Behle
Daniel Behle, a former member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, reached a broader public when an award winning recording of Die Zauberflöte, conducted by René Jacobs, was released in 2010. Music critics likened him to a young Fritz Wunderlich. This tenor has also made a name for himself as a Lieder singer. His debut CD, featuring works by Schubert, Beethoven, Grieg, Britten and Trojahn, was placed among the 15 best new releases of 2009 by the Metropolitan Opera Guild. This was followed by recordings of "Die schöne Müllerin/Auf dem Strom" and "Dichterliebe/Hirt auf dem Felsen". His latest CD "Generation" is being released in the autumn of 2012. Daniel Behle sings at leading opera houses in Europe, including La Scala Milan, the Vienna State Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Opéra National de Lyon, Opéra National de Paris, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Cologne Opera, the Staatsoper Berlin and Royal Opera in Stockholm. Daniel Behle’s roles at Oper Frankfurt have included Mozart’s Tamino, Tito, Belmonte, Don Ottavio and Ferrando and Leukippos in Strauss’ Daphne - he also gave a recital here in 2011. There are plans for him to return to Frankfurt during the 2013/14 season.
