Amanda Majeski
Amanda Majeski is singing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. A winner of many prizes and awards this soprano was a member of the ensemble at the Semperoper in Dresden in the 2011/12 season, during which she sang the title role in Alcina, Countess Almaviva, the Countess in Capriccio and Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito. Other recent engagements have included Vitellia at the Teatro Real Madrid and Fiordiligi at New York City Opera. Future engagements will take her to the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Glyndebourne, Zurich Opera and the Canadian Opera Company. Her repertoire also includes the roles of Micaëla (Carmen), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Marguerite (Faust) and Iole (Hercules) – roles she sang when she was a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Ryan Opera Center from 2009-2011, Ottone in Vivaldi’s Griselda (Santa Fe Opera), Blanche de la Force in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites (Pittsburgh Opera) and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (in 2008, as a member of San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program). Works she has sung in concert include Agathe’s arias from Der Freischütz conducted by Erik Nielsen with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Mahler’s Symphony No.4 with the Quad City Symphony. In 2010 she took part in the annual Marilyn Horne Foundation recital in the Carnegie Hall.
