Not many people have been voted »Singer of the Year« twice by »Opernwelt« magazine, but Marlis Petersen has: she became well known for her versatility, »crystal clear« voice and astonishing stage presence. Her repertoire ranges from roles by Haydn and Mozart, Violetta and Lulu (a central role in her repertoire) and contemporary music, including Henze’s Phaedra and Reimann’s Medea. She is a regular guest at opera houses all over the world, including those in Munich, London and New York. This season she is concentrating more on Lieder. Recitals are planned in London, Amsterdam, New York – and Frankfurt, her first one here, with her pianist Jendrik Springer. Marlis Petersen will present different settings of Goethe's works by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Wagner and Tschaikowski among others. Find the detailed programme here.
