Julius Drake
Pianist
British pianist Julius Drake is one of the world’s most sought after accompanists and chamber musicians, working regularly in concerts and recording studios with the leading singers and instrumentalists of our time. Recent engagements have included concerts at the Aldeburgh, Edinburgh, Munich, Salzburg and Tanglewood festivals, in the Carnegie Hall New York, La Scala Milan, the Gran Teatre de Liceu in Barcelona, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Cologne Philharmonie, Musée de Louvre in Paris, Musikverein in Vienna, London’s Wigmore Hall and the BBC Proms. His artistry as an accompanist led to the Wigmore Hall, the BBC and Concertgebouw Amsterdam inviting Julius Drake to put on his own series of concerts. His series of recitals »Julius Drake and Friends« in Middle Temple Hall in London has included concerts sung by Sir Thomas Allen, Olaf Bär, Ian Bostridge, Philip Langridge, Angelika Kirchschlager, Sergei Leiferkus, Felicity Lott, Christopher Maltman, Mark Padmore and Christoph Prégardien. His discography includes studio and live recordings with Alice Coote (EMI), Hugues Cuenod (Chandos), Sophie Daneman (EMI), Joyce DiDonato (Eloquentia, Wigmore Hall Live), Christopher Maltman (Wigmore Hall Live), Christian Poltera (Bis) and Christianne Stotijn (Onyx).
