Dmitry Egorov
Dmitry Egorov returns to Oper Frankfurt later in the season to sing the First Witch (which he also sang here in 2010/11) in Dido and Aeneas. This award winning countertenor’s recent engagements have included a new prouduction of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria under Konrad Junghänel in Cologne. He appeared in this opera at Oper Frankfurt in 2006/07. Dmitry Egorov began studying chorus direction and the organ at the Conservatoire in his home town of St. Petersburg. In 2007 he went to study singing with Prof. Claudia Eder at the Highschool for Music in Mainz and joined the Young Singers’ Ensemble at Mainz State Opera. Conductors with whom he has worked in concert include Michael Hofstetter, Ton Koopman and Bernhard Fork with the „La stagione“ Chamber Orchestra and Handel Festival Orchestra Halle. His first CD Il primo uomo (arias by Handel and Scarlatti) was released by Harmonia Mundi in 2011.
