Dmitry Egorov
Dmitry Egorov, who sang Nireno in Oper Frankfurt's new production of Giulio Cesare in Egitto last season, returns during the 2013/14 season for 1st Witch in Dido and Aeneas and Ascalax in a new production ofTelemann's Orpheus. This award winning countertenor's recent engagements have included L’humana fragilità / Pisandro in a new production of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria at Cologne Opera, conducted by Konrad Junghänel. He took part in a new production of the same work at Oper Frankfurt in 2006/07. Dmitry Egorov studied chorus direction and organ at the Conservatoire in Saint Petersburg, where he was born. In 2007 he went to study with Prof. Claudia Eder at Highschool for Music in Mainz, where he joined the Young Ensemble at the Staatstheater. Concert work has included appearances with Michael Hofstetter, Ton Koopman, the »La stagione« chamber orchestra and the Handel Festival Orchestra in Halle. His debut CD - Il primo uomo, with arias by Handel and Scarlatti – was released by Harmonia mundi in 2011.
