Justus Zeyen appears all over Europe, the USA and Japan as a soloist, chamber musician and, above all, accompanist. Singers with whom he has appeared in recital include Juliane Banse, Dorothea Röschmann, Diana Damrau, Christiane Iven, Sibylla Rubens, Florian Boesch, Siegfried Lorenz, Michael Schade and Luca Pisaroni. He has also appeared with German radio choirs. He and Measha Brüggergosman made an extensive tour of the USA in 2010. Places where he has appeared in recital include La Scala Milan and the Theater an der Wien. He has also appeared at many of the world’s leading festivals, including the Berlin and Vienna Festwochen, the Munich Opera Festival and Tanglewood Music Festival. Justus Zeyen has enjoyed a close working relationship with Thomas Quasthoff since they first appeared together at the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Fetival in 1994. Places where they have appeared together have included the Berlin Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall in London, the Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in Madrid and at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Recent highlights have included a tour of "quartet" recitals with Martina Janková, Bernarda Fink, Michael Schade and Florian Boesch, and recitals with Michael Schade and Luca Pisaroni at the Edinburgh Festival. Joint recitals with Michael Schade and Luca Pisaroni took place in New York and Toronto, and a joint recital with Michael Schade and Christopher Maltman in Graz. He will be appearing in recital throughout Europe during the 2012/13 season and he will give a master class with Thomas Quasthoff at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg in September 2013. Many of his recordings have received awards, including an Echo Klassik, the Cannes Award and nominations for the German Critic’s prize and a Grammy. Justus Zeyen teaches at the Highschool for Music in Hannover.
