Constantin Trinks made his debut at Oper Frankfurt with Die Hochzeit des Figaro/Le nozze di Figaro in 2012/13. He began his career as a guest coach and assistant to Kazushi Ono at the Badische Staatstheater in Karlsruhe before being engaged as a soloists' coach. Whilst there he also conducted performances of Le nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus and I puritani. In 2002 he was engaged as 2nd Kapellmeister at the Saarländische Staatstheater, where he was soon promoted to 1st Kapellmeister and Deputy GMD. Constantin Trinks became General Music Director of the Staatstheater in Darmstadt in 2009/10, after some very successful performances of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. He conducted a new Ring des Nibelungen there in 2011. Constantin Trinks has been working free-lance since 2012. Recent engagements have included appearances at the Semperoper in Dresden, where he returns during the 2013/14 season for Tannhäuser, Hänsel und Gretel and, again, Weinberger's Schwanda, der Dudelsackpfeifer/Schwanda, the Bagpiper, the Munich Opera Festival (where he returns in 2014 for Der Rosenkavalier), the New National Theatre in Tokyo (La Bohème and 2013 Tannhäuser), the Opéra National du Rhin in Strassbourg (Tannhäuser 2013) and the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Turandot 2014). This season he will also conduct Der fliegende Holländer/The Flying Dutchman at Zurich Opera and The Tales of Hoffmann at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
