Francesco Demuro
Tenor
Francesco Demuro, whose international career began with Luisa Miller in Parma and who sang Rodolfo in La Bohème at Oper Frankfurt in 2009/10, is much in demand for the role of Alfredo. This Italian tenor recently enjoyed great success with the role in La Traviata at the Vienna State Opera and Berlin Staatsoper (where some of the performances were conducted by Omer Meir Wellber). He has sung Alfredo in Limoges, Seattle, at the Teatro Municipal in Chile, in Dresden and the Arena di Verona. Other highlights in recent seasons have included performances of Rigoletto on tour in Hong Kong, in Peking, at the Verdi Festival in Parma, in Dresden (under Fabio Luisi), San Francisco (under Nicola Luisotti) and at the Festwochen in Vienna (new production directed by Luc Bondy and conducted by Omer Meir Wellber), Così fan tutte in the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, La Bohème and L’elisir d’amore at the Vienna State Opera, L’elisir d’amore at La Scala Milan, Lucia di Lammermoor in Hamburg and Warsaw and Gianni Schicchi (under Antonio Pappano) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Future engagements include La Traviata at the Opéra Bastille, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Covent Garden, La Bohème in Seattle, Falstaff at La Scala Milan, Maria Stuarda in Bilbao and Così fan tutte in San Francisco.
