Markus Brück has been a member of the Deutsche Oper in Berlin since 2001, where his roles have included Verdi’s Germont, Ford and Posa, Wagner’s Beckmesser, Wolfram, Amfortas and Gunther, Mozart’s Count Almaviva, Puccini’s Marcello and Sharpless and Strauss’ Faninal. He was made a "Kammersänger of the Deutsche Oper Berlin" in 2011. Other recent engagements have included appearances at the Salzburg Festival (debut 2011 in Christof Loy’s new production of Die Frau ohne Schatten), the Cologne Opera (enormous success with his first Rigoletto, and performances of Posa and Germont) and with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Donald Runnicles and Zubin Mehta (Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem/A German Requiem). In 2013 Markus Brück will make his debut in America, as Donner and Gunther in the Ring at Seattle Opera. Roles at Oper Frankfurt in the past were Valentin (at short notice) in Gounod’s Faust and Paul Niemand/Paul Nobody in Arnecke’s Unter Eis/Under Ice (in the Bockenheimer Depot).
