Dara Hobbs
Dara Hobbs is making her debut in Frankfurt as Sieglinde. This American soprano and regional finalist of the New York Metropolitan Opera Competition was a member of the ensemble at the Krefeld-Mönchengladbach Theatre from 2007-2012. Whilst there guest engagements included appearances at Leipzig Opera, the Hannover State Theatre, Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon. Her repertoire includes the title roles in Aida, Tosca, Ariadne auf Naxos, Suor Angelica, Tristan und Isolde and Die verkaufte Braut/The Bartered Bride, Brünnhilde (in a one evening version of the Ring in Krefeld Mönchengladbach), Lisa (Pique Dame), Elisabeth (Don Carlo), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) and Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro). She has also sung Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder and Strauss’ Four Last Songs. She began her career as a free-lance artist in the autumn of 2012, singing Isolde in Minden. Other engagements during the 2012/13 season include Isolde at Theater Bonn, Beethoven 9 in Düsseldorf and Suor Angelica in Krefeld Mönchengladbach. She will make her debut at the 2013 Bayreuth Festival singing Ortlinde.
